A Love for Math Turned into a Passion for Coding
As a lifelong lover of mathematics, Sneha pursued a master’s degree in computer applications. During her studies, Sneha’s brother started a product development tech company and offered her an opportunity to dive into the world of software development.
“I instantly fell in love with it,” Sneha recalls. “From day one, I was writing production code and learning new technologies, which was incredibly exciting for me.”
The experience allowed her to apply theoretical knowledge to handle real-world challenges and gave her a deep appreciation for technology’s potential to solve problems.
6sense: A New Chapter
After gaining extensive software development experience, Sneha joined 6sense as a contractor, which made her transition to a full-time position a seamless one.
For the past five years, Sneha has played a crucial role in the evolution of the India team at 6sense. She’s witnessed — and actively contributed — to the team’s growth and development.
“It’s been amazing,” she reflects. “I’ve seen the team grow from the first hire in India and I’ve witnessed the development of the engineering team. It’s been quite a journey seeing everything evolve.”

This ethos was largely instilled by her managers: Priyang Rathod, her first manager and now the director of engineering for 6sense, and Shilpi Goel, senior engineering manager. The culture of Sneha’s team has been shaped to make team members feel secure to take risks and push boundaries. This has empowered her to tackle challenges head-on. And she’s received encouragement to experiment and innovate, which has helped her professional and personal development.
“I have always had supportive people around me,” she says. “The team and the company’s culture have taught me to face challenges calmly and learn from failure.”
Striking a Work-Life Balance
Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is essential for Sneha. Her day typically starts early with yoga — she’s a certified yoga teacher — or running — though not recently, while she prepares to be a first-time mother — which sets a positive tone and energizes her for the day’s tasks.
Sneha’s workday begins by diving into focused work sessions and collaborative meetings. The structure of her day allows her to handle high-priority tasks efficiently while remaining available for team communication and problem-solving discussions.
These discussions often involve participation from international team members. But by aligning work hours more closely with her local team’s schedule, Sneha enjoys more peaceful dinners and uninterrupted focus on her engineering tasks.
This shift has reduced the need for late-night meetings, enabling her to dedicate quality time to both her work and personal life.
Sneha’s family — her husband, Vishal, especially — has contributed greatly to her work-life balance, Sneha says. Vishal’s encouragement and assistance have been invaluable, and his help managing the household and emotional support have enabled her to excel in her career while maintaining her other passions.
Advice for Aspiring Engineers
For those looking to enter the field of software engineering, Sneha emphasizes the importance of embracing challenges and continuous learning. Develop strong communication and collaboration skills, remain patient, and most importantly, enjoy the journey, she says.
“You must be passionate about coding and engineering because it’s a continuous learning process,” Sneha advises. “If you have the passion and are ready to take on challenges, go for it.”
