Editor’s Note: CMO Coffee Talk is an open space for more than 1,300 CMOs to come together weekly with their peers and discuss timely, crowd-sourced topics. Matt Heinz of Heinz Marketing co-hosts these dynamic, illuminating conversations with 6sense CMO Latané Conant.
One of my favorite parts about CMO Coffee Talk is the community. Sure, we cover some great topics each Friday morning, and the constant insights — to say nothing of the daily dialogue and sharing in our Slack channel — are fantastic.
In any community, it’s the “communing” that’s so powerful. Members of the group are there for each other when things get tough, and also band together to support outside opportunities when needed.
Last year, we started the CMOs Give Back program. It’s a series of GoFundMe campaigns to support worthy causes. In the second half of 2021 alone, CMOs Give Back generated more than $30,000 for several worthy non-profits.
Last Friday, we launched a campaign to directly support Ukraine humanitarian efforts. Specifically, a Ukrainian friend in the marketing ops space shared an organization that is directly providing real-time medical and pharmaceutical kits to affected areas throughout Ukraine.
In just the first four days of the campaign, CMOs Give Back has generated more than $8,000 to fund these urgently needed kits. And we’re just getting started.
If you’re a CMO and not yet in the CMO Coffee Talk community, please join us in contributing to this worthy cause. And if you’re just reading this and are looking for a way to have a direct positive impact on something horrible happening halfway around the globe, we invite you to join us as well.
Every dollar matters.
It’s awesome to be a part of a growing forum that shares executive-level marketing advice and best practices. But banding together to do something so deeply meaningful for our fellow humans is what community is all about.

Coming Up on CMO Coffee Talk…
In our next CMO Coffee Talk meet-up (which is just around the corner!), we’re talking about customer lifecycle marketing (the “right side” of the funnel). How are marketing leaders pivoting more resources to driving higher customer retention and lifetime value? What investments in people, resources, technology, and more are supporting those objectives? Don’t miss this one!
