Celebrating Success and Authenticity: Meet Mónica Cottrell and Zoë Jessup, Powerhouse Account Executives at 6sense

Today, we highlight account executives Mónica Cottrell (left) and Zoë Jessup (right), who are known within 6sense for their dedication, impressive sales records, authenticity.  We recently chatted with these standout performers about their journeys, proudest moments, and why they enjoy being part of 6sense.  

6sense: Tell us a little bit about yourselves. 

Mónica: I’m an enterprise account executive on the verticals team. Fun fact: I have four kids and I’ve had two of them in the last two years at 6sense. 

Zoë: I’m a senior commercial account executive. I just hit the one-year mark. I’m on our commercial west team. And a fun fact about me is that I read 54 books last year. 

Q: What are some things that you’re most proud of? 

Mónica: The last couple of years have been really challenging but also super rewarding. I was able to hit my annual number before I left for maternity leave. Zoë and I both will be celebrating together at President’s Club this year. 

Zoë: My biggest career accomplishment so far is getting over the hump and always thinking about what I could be doing better. I finished at number two in our team and I’m also going to be celebrating with Mónica. 

Q: What do you love most about your jobs at 6sense? 

Mónica: Number one, we have an incredible product that actually helps us do our own jobs. And working with such incredible people and having such great coaches, like Mac Conn, our VP on the commercial side, and Jess Austin, senior manager for commercial sales. 

Zoë: I love being able to use our own product every single day. And the people here make it so worth it. Everyone here is genuinely kind and wants to see success. And there are people you can call at 9 pm at the end of the quarter that will hop on and help you through a proposal, whatever it might be. 

Q: What would you say is your superpower? 

Mónica: I have to be extremely process-driven in order to get anything done. I’m extremely process-driven. 

Zoë: My superpower is being unapologetically myself. I go into every single deal being genuine and it allows me to be more of a strategic partner. 

Q: If you could give advice to your younger self, what would you say? 

Mónica: Take every opportunity as a chance to learn and grow. Nothing happens by mistake. I’ve been a biology teacher. I’ve been a professional dancer. I’ve had several careers, and I’ve learned something incredible through each of those experiences. Before 6sense, I chatted with a director of sales, and she told me I should be in sales. At first, I was like “Eww, gross,” but it’s been the best decision of my life, career-wise. 

Zoë: Set micro goals for yourself. If you only focus on the major goals, you’re going to be not-so-great every single day, but if you can set small goals, what you do now adds up in 30 days and helps you be successful. And meet as many people as you can. It is incredible what you can learn from connecting with others. 

Q: Did you know each other before 6sense? 

Mónica: Zoë and I actually met at a “women in sales” networking event. She is so great at meeting people. 

Zoë: We’re really, really incredibly lucky to be here. She was the first person I messaged when I got my Slack turned on. I was like “Look who made it!”
